The Walk is an original lithograph realized by Maurice Utrillo in 1927. Signed and dated on plate on the lower margin. Passpartout included (cm 34.1 x 28). Very good conditions.

The lithograph represents a urban landscape, maybe Montmartre, with some streetwalkers in the center of the composition. The style of Utrillo is very swift and fleet. He specialized in cityscapes and urban landscapes and he became the most important painter of Montmartre, the historical art district in Paris, where he was born in 1883.

Maurice Utrillo (Paris, 1883 – Dax, 1955) was a French painter and one of the most important exponents of Post-Impressionism. Son of Susanne Valadon, an artist and model herself who posed for Berthe Morisot, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Henri de Tolouse-Lautrec, she was left to raise the young Maurice. Maurice Utrillo showed very soon a real artistic talent; he started painting what he saw in Montmartre, where he was born, and became one of the most important painters of cityscapes and urban landscapes.
