Reinhoud d'Haese (1928-2007) is a Belgian sculptor, member of the CoBrA group. He made his debut in Brussels with a goldsmith, then attended the National School of Architecture and Decorative Arts where he learned the work of metal in sculpture. In 1950, he joined the Ateliers du Marais in Brussels, a kind of nursery for the Cobra group, where he actively participated in the transformation of the workshops into a center intended to receive artists. After the Ateliers du Marais dispersed, the experimental gallery Taptoe in Brussels organized in 1956 an exhibition entirely devoted to Reinhoud. He then received the Belgian Critics' Prize. In total, there are more than 3000 sculptures - all unique pieces in brass, copper, ceramic, wood or even bread crumbs - where Reinhoud shows us his barely fantastic bestiary, his vision of the slightly goofy man rooted in life.
