Lucio del Pezzo studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples and in 1958 founded Gruppo 58, an artistic movement with a 'neo-surrealist' approach.
In his object-paintings the playful aspect of art is always present; among his many exhibitions, the De Metafisica exhibition, where he exhibited together with De Chirico, Carrà, Morandi and Sironi, is of particular importance.
In the early 1960s he started to produce a repertoire enriched by semi-monochrome panels where geometric objects were inserted.
