The Salvador Dali L''Alchimiste etching and aquatint with drypoint, according to Michler-Lopsinger, was published under two contracts; one in 1973 and one in 1975. The edition in 1975 contained hand colouring while the edition from 1973 did not. This etching is signed by Salvador Dali. A pencil marking can be found on the left-hand corner of the work.
One of the 170 Artist's Proofs hand colored and marked "EA" (Epreuve d'Artiste) on Japanese Paper.
The full colored edition includes 250 numbered specimens on Arches, 250 numbered specimens on Japanese Paper, 170 Artist's Proofs on Arches Paper and 170 Artist's Proof on Japanese Paper.
