Rosetta Acerbi

Rosetta Acerbi (Venice, 1933 - Rome, 2019) was an Italian artist. She was the wife of the composer Goffredo Petrassi. She began painting when she was very young, obtaining the consent of the most qualified artistic groups. She was one of the most appreciated exponents of the figurative research, linked to a psychological investigation. For her paintings, she used to take inspiration from dreamy experiences, archetypal symbols, and ancient myths. Pictorial daughter of the great Renaissance tradition, she can be considered the legitimate daughter of the greatest Venetian painting. After prestigious exhibitions in Venice, Parma, Paris (Salle Pleyel and UNESCO), New York (Italian Cultural Institute), Barcelona (Italian Cultural Institute), Hamburg (Italian Cultural Institute), Dubrovnik (National Gallery) and Zagreb ((Italian Cultural Institute), she took part in the XIII Quadrennial of Art in Rome in 1999. In 2008, she received the Vittorio De Sica Award, under the patronage of the President of the Italian Republic. In 2011, she was invited to the Italian Pavilion of the 54th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennial.
