Appareil et Main
Appareil et Main is an original print by the Surrealist Catalan artist Salvador Dalí (Figueres, 1904-1989).
This is a color lithograph on wove paper, properly edited by the French magazine XXe Siécle , and published on the Panorama 74 - Le Surréalisme II , number issue XLIII , Paris, in 1974. Edited under the direction of the Italian art editor Gualtieri di San Lazzaro, the founder of the review.
An original print, signed and dated on plate on the lower left margin, and realized after Dalí's homonym oil painting realized in 1927. Our specimen was printed by Fernand Mourlot, Paris, 1974.
A curious artwork with Dalí's incredible figuration and Surrealist symbology a sort of rebus to decipher in a delirium state.
Our specimen is in excellent conditions, standing out for the very high definition of the print. This is a surrealist evergreen that has not to be missing in your house!

The Lithograph :
Artistic printing is a technique with which artworks could be multiplied through the use of engraved matrices and could become very popular. There is a large variety of engraving techniques defined by the matrix material. Today the engraving techniques have not changed at all once their strict function of "image multipliers" has slowly disappeared because of the advent of photography.
XXe Siécle :
A wonderful French art magazine, the XXe siècle was founded by Gualtieri di San Lazzaro , pseudonym of Giuseppe Antonio Leandro Papa (1904-1974), writer and Italian art editor.
