Liber Veritatis - Plate 95 is a beautiful black and white etching and aquatint on paper realized by the Italian artist Ludovico Caracciolo , after Claudio di Lorena .
This old master's original print is a beautiful artist proof , the 95th plate from the series Liber Veritatis , published in Rome in 1815 by Francesco Bourlié. Representing a natural landscape with men and grazing animals, this aquatint by Ludovico Caracciolo (engraver) was inspired by the production of the French painter Claude Lorrain ( draftsman) . Signed and numbered at the bottom of the plate “ Claudio di Lorena inv., L. Caracciolo F .”.
In very good conditions, except for some ink stains on the lower margin beyond the marginal line. Including a passepartout.

Ludovico Caracciolo (Rome, 1761-1841)
Roman landscapist and engraver, specialized in architectural drawings and panoramas of the Eternal City, Caracciolo loved travelling and drawing the most beautiful scenes he saw along the way. He became a protégé of Elizabeth Foster , the second wife of the fifth Duke of Devonshire , William Cavendish, and had the opportunity to publish a set of prints inspired by Claude Lorrain‘s works, collected in the Liber Veritatis , Rome, Francesco Bourlié, 1815 (now in the collection of the British Museum).
