A Napoleonic soldier tries to rape a girl. Trusting in the solitude of the surroundings (an isolated rural house, a feeling suggested by the primitive noria on the left) he lowered his guard and does not see that an old woman approaches with a dagger. Sexual violence is a recurring theme in the series and appears in other prints of the series as well as in other artists' works. The plastic effectiveness of the scene is based on the struggle of the girl with the soldier (white on black, pictorial and at the same time symbolic), which moves away putting a hand on his face.
