Chiton

Chiton is an original etching on paper realized by Francisco Goya and published for the first time in 1799.

The plate belongs to the Third Edition of "Los Caprichos" that has been published in 1868 by the Calcografia Nacional for the Real Academia.
The full edition includes 80 works.
Plate number 28. Titled on the lower margin "Chiton" (Silence).

Excellent conditions.

The old woman, always shrinking and praying with the rosary is listening to the unspeakable loves of a lady of good position: in stealth ("Chiton") she will find her rewards.
