A Thousand Words
This painting was inspired by Jose Guadalupe Posada and all the imagery he created with La Calaveras, with his most famous one being La Calavera Catrina. He used his imagery to convey political and cultural critiques. Generations of artist have been influenced by his work. How many images have we looked at and we remember or have an emotional response to it. The skull represents a person who took the picture, created the image, or may even be in the photo. The camera represents the object being used to capture a moment in time. Though the person in the photo or the person who created it may be gone, they live on through memories and stories from that image. One image can inspire others, one image can start a movement, One image can tell story more than a thousand words ever could.
