The inspiration and story behind this painting. Inspiration came from how two empires clashed, The Aztec Triple Alliance Empire and the Spanish crown.

The first painting I did of this was stolen from a gallery, and I had to paint it a second time for someone who wanted to buy it.

Then a gallery reached out to me and wanted this painting, so I painted it a third time.

Someone bought it and asked me to do a commission piece of a painting to go along with it for his wife and now the "King of Diamonds" and it's counter part "Queen of Hearts" are together owned by the same collector.
