Le Bonheur du Jour is an original artwork realized by the French artist George Barbier in 1929. It depicts a standing figure of a young charming man with several writings on the upper and on the lower side. The guy has two wings and has several ribbons and confettis around him.

This work has been realized by the French artist  George Barbier (Nantes, 1889 - Paris, 1932). He was a French painter, illustrator and fashion designer. A pupil of Jean Paul Laurens at the National Higher School of Fine Arts in Paris, he began exhibiting at the Salon des Humorists in 1910, under the pseudonym of Edouard William.  During the  following years he exhibited at the Boutet de Monvel Gallery. From 1912 until he lived, Barbier was regularly present at the Salon of Decorating Artists.  He also worked for satirical journals, such as Le rire or La Baionette , and for fashion magazines, such as La gazette du bon ton , to which he supplied not only drawings but also texts, Modes et manières d'aujourd'hui, Les feuillets d'Art, Foemina, Vogue, Comoedia illustré, The newspaper of ladies and fashions , always using the pouchoir technique, which he preferred, in a masterly way.
