Women   is a double-sided sheet with two original China ink drawing on cream-colored paper made in 1931 by the Italian artist  Ildebrando Urbani  (1901 - 1985).

Realized by a very skilled and quick hand, this original drawing represents on the recto a woman washing her dresses and on the verso an elder woman in a pause for reflexion. These rapid sketches reveal all their beauty in the freshness of the sapient touch.

The date and the date of realization and the signature are hand-written in pencil on the lower right margin of the verso, together with a blue ink stamp on the lower left margin " Arte Storia Collezione Contessa Laetitia Pecci-Blunt ".  In very good conditions, except for some light yellow stains on the lower margin and a usual yellowing of the paper at the edge. A white cardboard passepartout is included (49 x 34 cm).

Ildebrando Urbani  (1901-1985)

The Italian artist Urbani participated in numerous editions of the National Art Quadrennial of Rome from 1931 to 1956 and at the Venice Biennial in 1940 and 1942. He later moved to Madrid where he continued the exhibition activity.
