Two Art Nouveau Spiral Candlesticks

Two Spiral Candlesticks  is an original decorative pair of objects realized in the 1920s . 

Original silver-plated metal. The pair icludes: one silver-plated canclestick (H. 8 cm) and one metal silver-colored candlestick (H. 22.5 cm). 

Made in Germany. 

Both the objects are in very good conditions. 

Beautiful pair of decorative objects realized in silver-plated metal: the smaller candlestick has a single-flame with circular base and a circular wide band, cover with drip edge. The bigger candlestick is realized in metal silver-colored metal with a single stick and a winding frame of rods with small spherical ornaments.

The term "Jugendstil" ( Art Nouveau)  dates back to the illustrated cultural journal Jugend  founded by Hirth  at the end of 1895 in Munich,  and can be understood as a countermovement of young artists and artisans to backward-looking historicism,  but also to the soulless understanding of industrialization.  The focus is on new materials, such as concrete or iron, and new construction methods.
