Beautiful work on paper that depicts a view of Saint Peter Church in Rome realized in the middle of the XX Century by the Italian painter Orfeo Tamburi (Jesi, 1910 – Paris,1994). H e enrolled in an Art School in Rome in 1927; later he completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and in 1936 he went for the first time to Paris where he came into contact with some of the most important painters of the time and discovered the painting of Paul Cézanne. He then came back to Italy and collaborated with Roman theaters and was commissioned to decorate the atrium of the EUR theater; he participates in the Rome Quadriennale and the following year at the Venice Biennale where he has the opportunity to meet the writer Curzio Malaparte. In the following years he continued to participate in both the Rome Quadriennale and the Venice Biennale, setting up personal exhibitions in the most important cities of Italy at the same time. At the end of the Second World War he returned to Paris and from there he extended his activity by participating in personal exhibitions in Belgium, France, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
