Portrait

Depicting the portrait of artist's wife, through strong strokes, full of emotion with a deep look.  Eugène Berman  (Petersbourg, 1932 - Rome, 1972). He worked especially for the theater (Brecht's Threepenny Opera, Paris 1937; Russian Ballets of Monte Carlo, etc.). Pupil in St. Petersburg of P. Naumov, he perfected his artistic training at the Acadèmie Ranson in Paris, where he was also a pupil of M. Denis and E. Vouillard. Surrealist painter, he was influenced by the painting of Giorgio De Chirico and Pablo Picasso. Resident in the United States since 1937, he assumed its nationality in 1944.
