Serge Mendjisky (1929-2017) was born in 1929 in Paris. Like his father, Maurice Mendjisky was a painter of the "School of Paris", Serge was introduced to the art world very early on. After his studies at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he became an established artist, exhibiting his paintings in Europe, Japan and the United States. Even though he was a painter, he constantly used photography as preliminary studies for his paintings.
