Oscar Pelosi

Oscar Pelosi (1938–1996) was an Italian artist. In February 1965, he inaugurated and directed in Naples (Vomero), with his brother Elio, the Gallery "La Tavolozza", which soon became a meeting place for young artists, personalities of entertainment, music, and Neapolitan culture, such as Ettore de Mura, Roberto Murolo, Nunzio Gallo, Memo Remigi, and Carlo Dapporto. In 1966, at the age of twenty-eight, his first personal exhibition staged in the halls of the Palazzo Comunale of Torre del Greco, and it was met with great success by critics and the public. In 1969, his first important and significant personal exhibition was held at the Galleria La Tavolozza. Oscar Pelosi is one of the founders of the MAV Trends (Vomero Artistic Movement) and Enne 4 group together with his painter friends Mario Buonoconto, Vincenzo Cerino, and Salvatore Vitagliano, presented in 1969 at the "San Carlo" Art Gallery in Naples.
