Landscape is an excellent artwork that depicts a naturalistic and fresh landscape with a huge tree in the centre of the composition and several other trees on the background. The work has been realized by the French artist Israel Henriet (Nancy, 1590 - 1661). He was a designer, engraver and printmaker from Lorraine, naturalized French. He was Jacques Callot's childhood friend in Nancy. His father, Claude Henriet, first painter to Charles III of Lorraine, was a friend of Jean Callot, father of Jacques Callot. He studied engraving in Florence with Antonio Tempesta, at the same time as Jacques Callot and Claude Deruet
