The background:
In a letter dated 13thJanauary 1936 to Jean Paulhaun, De Chirico attached some unpublished manuscripts to collect in a novel, in the style of Hebdomeros. Even though Paulhan had positive impressions, they didn’t manage to reach an agreement.Infact, the Manuscript “Dusdron” was entirely published in 2002. The first drafting dates from 1936. The title “Monsieur Dusdron” coincides with the main character’s name and means, reading the word on the contrary, "Monsieur Nordsud", after changed in "Monsieur Dudron" or "Mister Dudron", in otherwords"Mister of the North".
In 8th May 1938the young French editor Henri Parisot wrote to Alberto Savinio, demanding him a short-story for a collection of booklets. Savinioanswered him with his work “Chants de la Mi-Mort” and suggested him his brother De Chirico for a next issue. Among June and July 1938 “Deux Fragments Inédits” titled “Cesoir La, Monsieur Dudron” were published, as the fifth issues of the Collection, after G. Prassinos, B. Péret, A. Savinio and L. Carrington.
