Death and Other Figures
Death and other figures is a beautiful drawing, probably a group of studies, made by an anonymous artist, realized around the mid-XX century. The state of preservation is good even though the acetated paper, attached to a white cardboard on the higher back, has small tears on the margins. The central figure of Death is particularly elegant, with a beautiful movement of veils with which it covers the nude figures of a man and a woman hugging. The woman’s hair covers her whole body and could correspond to the character of Eve , who becomes mortal with Adam outside Heaven. The fourth figure, on the right, is a nude woman holding a veil.
The ensemble is very well-drawn, full of movement and elegance.
