¿De qué mal morirá? is an exclusive first edition original etching and aquatint on paper realized by the artist Francisco Goya and published in 1799.

Exclusive etching and aquatint on paper print is part of the First Edition of "Los Caprichos" published in 1799 by the Calcografia Nacional for the Real Academia of Madrid. Edition composed by a total of 80 original plates.

Exemplar plate n. 40 numbered on the upper right corner. Titled on the lower central margin "¿De qué mal morirá?" (What will he die for?).

Good conditions. Dimensions of plate: 2 x 3.4 cm.

A scene capturing the condition of poor people during the Spanish court of the XVIII century. Through this etching, the artist aimed to show the ignorance of certain doctors and scholars of the time. The main figure is a donkey visiting a patient lying on a bed.
