Portrait of a Lady is a beautiful drawing realized by the French painter Marguerite Babillot , born in Saint Denis and known for having exhibited a still life at the Salon of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1926.

The artwork is in good conditions, except for some pinholes that also created some tiny stains of rust on the margins of the drawing. On the lower left, the artwork is signed in pencil “ M. Babillot ”.

The drawing is descriptive, in full-page, and represents a lady in three quarters sitting on an armchair, with gathered hair and crossed arms. Behind her, a chimney.

The drawing demonstrates the artist’s masterful draftsmanship in the perspectival foreshortening and in the portrait of the woman, posing with a sweet and amused smile.

Overall, this is a very pleasant artwork.
