Hommage à A. Ardail is a beautiful black and white etching on paper, realized by the French artist Charles Courtry (1846-1897).

Of little dimensions yet of high finesse, this modern artwork represents a musician playing the trumpet and announcing the artist A. Ardail.

This original print is in excellent conditions and reveals the incredible draftsmanship of " one of the best aquafortists of the nineteenth century ", as the Bénézit Dictionary presents him.

Charles Courtry (1846-1897)

The French engraver illustrated various French journals, such as the Gazette des Beaux-Arts , The Artist , and the Universal Museum . His artistic production is very wide. He was named Knight of the National Order of the Legion of Honor.
