Artemio Ceresa

Artemio Ceresa Artist

Artemio Ceresa was born in Piacenza in 1973 where he lives and works as a painter in his studio.
Fascinated by the world of painting since he was a boy, he started drawing already at school. He is self-taught, he had a guide in Gaby Pizzi, he had contacts with Giancarlo Braghieri who gave him several pieces of advice to advance and mature his artistic sense and surrealist sensibility, while the Piacenza artist Alberto Gallerati gave him advice on oil painting. Some of his works can be found in private collections in Italy such as the Mim Museum in San Pietro in Cerro (Piacenza) and the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Cassa di Risparmio di Jesi. In Ceresa's painting we find not only references to Surrealism but also to Futurism and Informal art. He is a painter who likes to experiment with different materials, including canvas, wood and resin, keeping clear references to graphics, such as "Scorci d'infinito B & W "which is part of a larger collection lasting from 2017 to the present day where Ceresa incorporates graphics into the painting.
