The artwork is a typical composition realized by Josè Guevara during the 1990s. It represents one of his favorite themes in his art: Spanish traditions and customs. In this colored lithograph, Guevara represents a corrida scene.

Josè Guevara was born in Spain in Puebla de Guzman (Huelva) in 1928 and died in 2010. Creator of the painting "oil by combusting the pigment" lived between Madrid and Paris. Well known in Europe and Latin America. He exhibited at the 1961 Paris Biennale, the XXXI Venice Biennale, the VII São Paulo Biennale in Brazil. Works in the most important museums in the world.
