Rembrandt known simply as Rembrandt (Leiden, 15 July 1606 - Amsterdam, 4 October 1669), was a Dutch painter and engraver. He is generally considered to be one of the greatest painters in European art history. Having achieved great success as a portrait painter from a young age.
