The etching is part of the First Edition of "Los Caprichos" published in 1799 by the Calcografia Nacional for the Real Academia of Madrid.

The Edition includes 80 original plates.

Titled on the lower central margin " ¡Qual la descañonan! " (They are going to pluck her).

Dimensions of plate: 3 x 2.5 cm. Bonnes marges.

The expression of the lazy, disheveled and incapable person, perhaps drunk, shows his absence of the true life and an unconsciousness that does not notice the most serious dangers. The plate indeed represents a man and a chair in flames on the right side.
