This  "Viva La Cometa!" Correspondence by Enrico Paulucci to the Countess Pecci Blunt, written in Italian, from 1932 to 1937, is composed of  4 Authograph Letters Signed,  prefectly readable and in excellent conditions. Including original envelopes.

An intimate correspondence of greeting letters between the Italian artist and the Countess and patron of arts, Mimì Pecci-Blunt, during the years of the foundation of La Cometa Gallery in Rome (1935-1938). Rich of details, such as the the purchase of a Paulucci's artwork representing a Cock, this lot reveals the international group of artist was burning and gravitated around the figure of Pecci-blunt: Dérain, Cagli, Libero de LIbero, Paulucci and much more!

The Background:

These are the year of the turinese period, in which Enrico Paulucci together with Felice Casorati founded the Casorati-Paulucci studio, where he organized many avant-garde exhibitions, including the first Italian art exhibition by the Milanese Milione group.

Countess Anna Laetitia Pecci  (Rome, 1885 - Marlia, 1971)

Better known as Mimì , the Italian noblewoman was an art collector, patron and  nephew of Pope Leo XIII. Extremely volcanic, she was very active in the cultural field, opening numerous lounges, galleries and theaters. In 1919 she married Cecil Blumenthal, later changed to Blunt, a wealthy Jewish banker from New York, heir to an important collection of nineteenth-century French painting. His Parisian and Roman salons was frequented by artists and intellectuals of the caliber of  Alberto Moravia, Mario Praz, Salvador Dalì, Paul Valery, Poulenc, Paul Claudel.
