Magic Circle   is an original pencil drawing on Universal watermarked paper, realized at the middle of the XX century by the Surrealist artist  Eugène Berman .

Monogrammed " E. B. " in pencil on the lower margin at the center.

A superb original drawing with a fresh and sure line, a typical line of a rapid sketch, representing a magic circle, a circle of fire: the strongest and most dangerous circus performance to make the spectators dream and be scared at the same time.

Eugène Berman  (Saint Petersburg, 1899 – Rome, 1972) was a Russian painter and theater and opera scenographer. His work earned the name of "Neo-Romantic" for the melancholy and the introspective features. Berman might have taken inspiration from Pablo Picasso's artworks, especially from the Blue Period paintings.
