A tiger is portrayed frontally and at rest in her royal feline posture. The drawing is sketched with a fat pencil and with a very fresh line, which allowed an incredible realism in the representation. Much attention is paid to rendering the texture of her stripes.

Wilhelm (Willi) Lorenz  (Germany, 1901–1981)

Wilhelm Lorenz, also known as Willi Lorenz, was a German painter specialized in paintings of animals typically hunted as a game. His highly detailed oil paintings evoke the texture and movement of animals like boars, foxes, buffalos, and lions, depicted in their natural habitats and attitudes. His artworks resemble the works by Max Josef Hänger Lorenz. Willi Lorenz attended the Düsseldorf Academy of Art before moving to Cologne to start his artistic career.
