Important Collection Of Ancient And Rare Books On Sports!

Collection of Ancient Rare Books on Sports

Wallector is proud to present one of the world’s largest private collections of books relating to the rise of sport in the
West, including more than 1300 volumes from the 16th to the 20th century.

The central part of this collection consists of 400 precious and rare volumes printed between 1450 and 1900 in France, Italy, Holland, Germany, England, and other European countries.

The categories these precious volumes may be grouped in include jousting and dueling (both deeply rooted in the spirit of Olympic Games), sports architecture, military art, medicine and hygiene, festivals, games, shows, and individual sports (such as swimming, football, boxing, fencing, tennis, and equitation).

Spanning over more than five centuries, this collection offers a complete and exhaustive overview on the history of sports and games from their inventions. Many of these books are finely illustrated, and all of them are released with a detailed professional description, of which you will find some examples in the products below.
