Giuseppe Capogrossi  (1900-1972) was an Italian member of the  Informal , together with Lucio Fontana e Alberto Burri. He realized a very personal Abstractism featured by a single shape-sign he combined in endless variations.

In the same year of this postcard,1958, his work  " Superficie 210 " was bought by the  Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation , perhaps he was in New York for this reason and wrote a greeting postcard to the Countess.
