Photographic Portrait with Autograph dedication signed and dated 30 Juni 1924, and autograph musical quotation signed with text, of the Austrian composer Wilhelm Kienzl (Waizenkirchen, 1857 - Vienna, 1941).
Kienzl writes a dedication to the operatic tenor Erik Schmedes (1868-1931) for his farewell evening at the Vienna Opera House. On the upper margin, the composer pens four bars from his opera Der Evangelimann (1895): “Selig sind, die Verfolgung leiden…”.
