The artwork is a very beautiful representation of an Italian landscape. The place is Pescallo, near Bellagio with the Lake of Lecco. The pencil stroke is very precise and the line creates a soft chiaroscuro that defines the volumes of nature.

Lecco's Lake was realized by the French artist Paul Louis Alexandre Wallet (Amiens, 1818) a landscape painter that exhibited at the Salon from 1857 to 1870.
