The work in included in portfolio Le Café Concert a suite of lithographs on japan paper by Lautrec and Henri-Gabriel Ibels, printed by Edward Ancourt & Cie and published in 1893 by l'Estampe Originale.

In this portfolio, working with the artist Henri-Gabriel Ibels and the writer Georges Montorgueil, Lautrec created an ode to the café-concert. Montorgueil’s essay argued that café-concert are place for people from all walks of life to relax and communicate. Lautrec’s images capture a cross-section of people involved in Paris nightlife.
The artwork represents the profile of a woman named by the artist, Madame Abdala. 

Henri de Toulouse Lautrec; a French Post-Impressionist, printmaker, draughtsman, caricaturist and illustrator who immersed in the colourful and theatrical life of Paris in the late 19th Century. His experience allowed him to produce a collection of enticing, elegant and provocative images of the modern, sometimes decadent, affairs of those times. Toulouse-Lautrec always wanted to Make attempts to create various artwork. With the eclectic and polyhedral spirit, Lautrec was a skillful printmaker before he became a painter. His art has reached the highest level in this field. Of course, He was a master at painting crowd scenes where each figure was highly individualized. At the time they were painted, the individual figures in his larger paintings could be identified by silhouette alone, and the names of many of these characters have been recorded.
