Tommaso Aniello d'Amalfi, also known as Masaniello (Naples, 1620 - 1647), was the protagonist of the Neapolitan uprising that saw, from 7 to 16 July 1647, the population of the city rise against the tax burden imposed by the Spanish viceroy government.
