Original title: Cuba. Havana. Ministry of Industry. Ernesto Guevara (Che), Argentinian politician, Ministry of Industry for Cuba (1961-1965) during an exclusive interview in his office. Havana. Cuba. 1963.

In 1962, René Burri visited Havana on commission for Look magazine. Burri met Che, Minister of Industry, in his office in Havana and had the rare opportunity to photograph him for an American magazine, even though Che did not take it too well. The result is eight rolls depicting Che Guevara in every kind of situation: sitting, smiling, angry. Among this large number of shots, only one would become the icon that we all know and share for anniversaries. The magazine cut that portrait badly, but Burri has always asserted with great modesty that "that photograph has entered our imagination thanks to Che and his great cigar, not my work".
