Commissars in the United Nations New York

Commissars in the United Nations New York  is an exceptional mixed media original drawing made by the Swedish illustrator and reporter  Adolf Reinhold Hallman .

On the left, there is the inscription “ Commissars / in the / United Nations / New York ”. In the center of the back, in blue ink, the writing “ New York / 5 / Broadway / by Adolf Hallman / 43 Fifth Avenue / New York City ” and signature of the artist. The state of preservation is very good, the paper only presents slightly yellowed margins. There is also a green stamp “ Made in U.S.A ”.

This original print is a satirical illustration that was probably published by Hallman, who was an illustrator but also a reporter for many newspapers. The artwork represents a meeting among the commissars of the United Nations, portrayed with fun caricatures.

This is a singular and amusing work, with both historical and artistic values, realized with taste and masterful draftsmanship.
