Zao Wou-Ki realized this beautiful lithograph Abstract in 1975.
This original print is unsigned. It comes from the Portfolio: "San Lazzaro et Ses Amis. Hommage au fondateur de la revue XXe siècle".
Zao Wou-Ki (1921-2013) was a Chinese painter, who lived in France. He studied at the School of Fine Arts of Hangzhou, where he taught until 1947. He moved to Paris in 1948. His artistic practice, influenced by Klee’s style, involves a precious and refined abstraction, reminiscent of his original culture.
The colors of this print seem to be crashing against each other vehemently. The main color of the artwork is blue, which gradually shifts into green, orange, and black. This abstract composition aims at conveying many strong emotions to the observers.
