Véronique Bigo is a painter, born in 1946 in Lille . She currently lives in Marseille. In 1970, after studying at the Beaux Arts in Lille, Véronique Bigo decided to go to Romewhere she settled until 1986. This is where the artist laid the foundations of her painting: the palette is black – a few rare traces of pink, green or yellow are sometimes superimposed – and the canvas in raw linen. Broadly, his work embraces the path of figurative art, favoring the object whatever it is according to the series. Because these are the themes that predominate in Véronique Bigo's painting and that provide the inspiration for the subjects painted. With a sure and determined brushstroke, she gives shape to the object by then infusing it with particularly contrasting games of shadows using tiny spots that give it a convincing materiality. Thus, the relationship between the eye of the observer and the canvas only emerges more upset, especially since the formats can be very large.
