Karel de Bazel  (whose complete name was Karel Petrus Cornelis de Bazel, 1869-1923) was a famous Dutch architect, engraver, draftsman, furniture designer, glass artist and bookbinding designer.

 

The pressed glass is a technique of realizing glass with a piston to press it into a mold. Firstly patented by the American inventor John P. Bakewell in 1825, this techinque has been developed in the United States since 1820 and in Europe, particularly France, Bohemia, Sweden, since 1830.
